Mark Millar, creator of the popular comic, "Kick-Ass," has recently announced that he will continue the "Kick-Ass" comic saga. Yet this time, a new superhero character will be introduced.

The "Kick-Ass" comic series first launched in 2008 and ended in 2014 after spawning three series and a spin-off series featuring "Hit-Girl." Marking the title's 10th anniversary, the new "Kick-Ass" comic will be unveiled to the public in February 2018, with a new hero called "Patience Lee."

"Patience Lee" is a black military veteran with kids who just recently came back from Afghanistan. She lives in New Mexico, contrary to the series' usual setting in New York City. "I love mom heroes," Miller told Entertainment Weekly.

"I don't think I've ever created a better [character]. I did it in Empress and I've done it again here," he added.

Although the actual dynamic of the series will be different, Miller says the flavor of the whole comic will still be identical to the original. In the series' universe, 'Kick-Ass" became a viral phenomenon not just in New York City, but in other neighboring cities as well.

In the new iteration, "Patience Lee" is inspired by "Kick-Ass," thus also donning a superhero costume to try and defend her neighborhood from bad guys. Other information about the story plot is yet to be revealed, so fans may have to wait until the new comic's release to know why "Patience Lee" decided to walk on "Kick-Ass's" shoes.

In other news, Netflix recently acquired Millarworld in August, with Miller announcing another new comic last month titled "The Magic Order," the first comic to be released under the American entertainment company. However, the "Kick-Ass" franchise was not part of the deal, so fans hoping for a new film under the series will be comforted by the fact that a new comic is on the way.

The first issue of the new "Kick-Ass" comic will hit stores February 2018, to be published by Image Comics.
