New Childrenswork magazine launches

Premier Christian Media has launched a new magazine for people working with children in churches.

The Childrenswork magazine and its accompanying website offer ideas, resources and guidance for Christian children's leaders.

Premier says it has launched the magazine to remedy the lack of resources available to people working to share Jesus with pre-teens in the UK.

The bi-monthly is co-edited by Martin Saunders.

He said: “A comparable study in America revealed that nearly half of those who accepted Jesus Christ as their saviour do so before reaching the age of 13 (43%). We have a severe lack of materials available for people working with young children here in the UK.”

The magazine is aimed at people working from the 0-11 age range and will cover the latest developments in children's ministry as well as interviews with some of the leading voices in children's ministry.

Advice panels made up of leading experts in the field will directly address the issues faced by children’s workers, keeping them informed with reviews of the latest ‘How-To’ guides.

Saunders continued, “We’ve seen our sister title, Youthwork magazine, go from strength to strength over the past 21 years but an increase in focused church work among young children and their families has been accompanied by an increased need for good resourcing in these areas.”

Co-editor Sam Donoghue, who is Children’s Ministry Adviser to the Diocese of London, said: “Childrenswork magazine is an exciting development for those of us who work with children.

"So many work so very hard to help our churches become welcoming places for children and we hope to resource and support them – perhaps raising their horizons as they seek to nurture the incredibly deep, profound, yet fragile faith and spirituality of children.”
