The latest installment of the hoops sim franchise has finally arrived as "NBA 2K17" goes live. One noted improvement to the game is the adjustment for VC replenishments, a must for the vaunted MyPlayer mode.

VC, or virtual currency, is one of the rewards in the "NBA 2K" franchise games. Players can use accumulated VCs to purchase in-game upgrades and unlock player enhancements for MyPlayer superstars. With the progress of every "NBA 2K" games, VC collection has become more and more complex.

However, even if there are slightly-raised conditions for VC harvesting in "NBA 2K17," hardcore players still manage to have some tricks or workarounds, particularly for building a superstar in MyPlayer in as little VC distribution as possible.

One noted trick that has been tried and tested, even with previous "NBA 2K" installments, is the practice session. The practice sessions in both MyPlayer and MyCareer modes are stats-enhancing ones, and it also provides VCs. Although the different drills and practice events may seem repetitive after a time, these sessions can still let players manage to save up enough VCs to upgrade their career players.

In connection to this, a handy trick for a player superstar to upgrade stats without that much VC consumption is to regularly practice shots and vertical jumps. Reportedly, a regular practice schedule for these areas will boost player stats much quicker, and this may even be an easier way to raise stats to 99.

Meanwhile, it is also best practice to stick to one player model and upgrade stats based on the character's primary strengths. Hardcore fans are already familiar with this structure, although casual players may also just judge if their NBA superstar will be a paint shooter, a defensive player, or a sharpshooter from range. Once an archetype has been decided, appropriating VCs on the needed strengths will be easier.

Harvesting VCs for player upgrades are also made easier in other modes, as other gameplay features in "NBA 2K17" hand out VCs as rewards. Playing as many modes as possible in a player account will stack up VCs, which can then be used for purchases as well as player upgrades. Playing other modes before letting the MyPlayer superstar go pro is also an advantage in making sure that all stats are raised sufficiently to play in the big league.
