National Prayer Tour to heal communities

Premier Christian Radio is taking to the road next week to pray for healing in our communities after the riots and ongoing economic turmoil.

The National Prayer Tour will visit five cities from next Tuesday and is anticipating a strong turnout from across the denominations.

The team includes Premier chief executive Peter Kerridge and Premier Lifeline's Jonathan Clark.

Local church and civic leaders will offer prayers and worship will be led by Graham Kendrick.

David Vardy, regional chairman for Mission England in the North East, welcomed the initiative.

"In these turbulent days we need to hear the voice of the Christian church," he said.

"A clear call to the nation to return to God and the principles and precepts of the Bible should be heard.

"Most of us do not have access to a public platform or the media. How can we effect change? We can pray!"

Mr Kerridge said the prayer events were a way of supporting the church and others working on the ground in their local communities.

“Premier wants to encourage continued unified prayer for God's peace and for the rebuilding of our nation," he said.

"We want to provide hope for victims who have suffered, and are still suffering as a result of civil unrest."

The events are free and no booking is required.
