Motorola Moto X release might be this September

According to a report from the IBTimes, the upcoming third-generation Motorola Moto X smartphone is due for release this September. The report also cites the device's appearance on the website Zauba, where it is listed for export to India to be tested prior to launch.

The report also gives fans the first indications of the phone's full specs. According to the report, the Moto X (3rd Gen) device will sport either a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC processor along with 4 GB of RAM.

According to the IBTimes report, the phone will feature a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. However, according to Phone Arena, there may be a 5.2-inch and a 5.7-inch version of the upcoming Moto X. The report says that Motorola is calling the larger phone the Moto X-Plus but this name may change upon launch.

It is also reported by Phone Arena that Verizon is the only carrier currently interested in the 5.7-inch variant although this larger model may not be exclusive to just Verizon and may be offered by other phone carriers in the country.

The phone will reportedly feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Running the device is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and it will be powered by a 3280 mAh battery.

At this point, however, it is important to note that these features have not yet been confirmed or denied by Motorola. With the device allegedly still in its testing phase, it is likely that some of these features may change or may be dropped prior to launch, particularly regarding which CPU the phone is going to use.

One more aspect missing from the current set of leaks is the rumored fingerprint scanner. According to the IBTimes, previously leaked photos indicate that the Moto X (3rd Gen) would feature a fingerprint scanner but newer images no longer seem to feature this, hinting at the possibility that this system was scrapped or perhaps moved.
