Moto X+1, also known as Moto X2,  is expected to be released on Sept. 25, according to a report.

Droid Life reported that sources from Verizon Wireless stated that the carrier is expecting the delivery of Motorola's new flagship phone by Sept. 25.

It was initially rumored that the new smartphone from Motorola will be released in late summer alongside the rumored smartwatch of the company – Moto 360.

September 25 is past summer, which officially ends on Sept. 22. However, it is close enough. Moreover, there is a chance that other carriers will get the device first. It was initially reported that Moto X2 release date will be held in August or September. If rumors proved to be true, the Moto X2 will battle with other flagship smartphones, including handsets from Apple and Samsung.

According to rumors, Moto X+1 will pack a 5.2" display that offers 1080x1920p resolution. The next gen Moto X handset will come with a 1080p full HD display and slimmer bezel. This is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD support, 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter, and 2900mAh battery.

On the other hand, there is no word about the smartwatch Moto 360, which is set to be the first smartwatch to sport a round face design, which is claimed to be one of the best designs among Android devices so far. It will compete with LG's G Watch and Samsung's Gear Live. Both smartwatches pack a rectangular design.

"Moto 360 sets itself apart with a design that reimagines time for the modern era - a distinctive round display, carefully chosen materials, and fine craftsmanship all while keeping you on track and up to date without taking you out of the moment," Motorola's blog post stated.
