Moto X+1 to launch with Moto 360 watch to take on Google, Apple, Samsung wearables

Latest reports claimed that the upcoming Moto X+1 release date will happen later this summer and will be accompanied by Motorola's smartwatch – Moto 360.

Motorola already announced that it will unveil the Moto 360 this summer and many expected it to be released alongside the company's flagship smartphone dubbed as Moto X+1 or Moto X2. What is surprising is that both devices will be available through the Moto Maker.

Moto Maker is Motorola's website where consumers can personalize and customize their own device based on their preferred design. The site was a big hit for Moto X users and Moto X+1 is expected to sport the same customization options as its predecessor.

However, many are doubtful on the customizable areas of Moto 360. Moto 360 posed limitations on customization due to its small body. Moreover, Motorola already revealed the several options to the device's strap.

Moto 360 is the first smartwatch to sport a round face design, which is claimed to be one of the best design among Android devices so far. Competitors recently launched the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live smartwatches which both boast a rectangular design.

"Moto 360 sets itself apart with a design that reimagines time for the modern era - a distinctive round display, carefully chosen materials, and fine craftsmanship all while keeping you on track and up to date without taking you out of the moment," Motorola announced in a blog post last week.

Meanwhile, Moto X+1 is rumored to pack an AMOLED display with Full HD resolution. Also, it seemed that the buttons on the side looked like it was made from either metal or ceramic. Rumors also claimed that the handset will also include features such as a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel back camera, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for additional storage.

Moto X+1 release date is expected to happen in August or in September. If rumors proved to be true, Moto X+1 will battle it out with other smartphones from its rivals, including the heavyweights from Apple and Samsung. Even the Moto 360 will compete with the wearables from its rivals.
