It was previously speculated that the Microsoft Lumia 1330 will be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show happening next month, but it is now reported that the handset will be released in March at the Mobile World Congress 2015. Rumors strengthen as the device was spotted in GFX Benchmark revealing some of the specs and features of the device.
In addition, a leaked photo of the Microsoft Lumia 1330 emerged online, uploaded on the Twitter account by @staguevue and in Baidu. According to both leaked photo and benchmark, the smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch screen display with a slightly inferior 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400-based quad-core SoC paired with 1 GB of RAM, Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, 14-megapixel back camera with Carl Zeiss optics and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, as well as a better battery pack. Lumia's camera is commendable since they usually meet the demand and needs of users.
Meanwhile, with its massive screen size and quad-core processor, Microsoft Lumia 1330 is predicted to be a budget phablet to enter the market that will be offered for those who do not want to dish out a lot of cash and for those who do not need some of the features of other tablet-smartphone hybrids like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus.
Microsoft Lumia 1330 will be the first phablet to be released since Microsoft took over Nokia's devices arm. Since then, the company has been pushing devices with great specs and features but paired with affordable price tags.
With the aforementioned specs and features, the smartphone will surely aim for the mid-range segment of the market. The handset will be a real challenge for Samsung's and LG's mid-range smartphones that are bound for release at the same trade show.
With the announcement in MWC in March, the smartphone will be available for purchase in April. However, these are still all speculations as Microsoft has not announced anything yet.
