Miami Heat trade rumors: Greg Monroe, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Greg Oden, and Ray Allen?

The loss caused by the decision of LeBron James to leave the Miami Heat earlier this year has prompted the team to become more aggressive in pursuing players who are under free agency this summer. Moreover, Miami Heat's defeat to the San Antonio Spurs was believed to have stemmed from their weakness on the bench during the final games.

In response to the loss of LeBron's departure from the team to join the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team immediately enlisted two leading players. Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts were said to have been chosen to fill the void left by LeBron. To bolster the team's performance, they opted to keep most of its own free agents. These players included Mario Chalmers, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem, and Chris Andersen. In addition to these retained players, the Miami Heat signed Shawne Williams to the team as well.

To date, rumors are ongoing that Shawn Marion, Greg Monroe, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Greg Oden, and Ray Allen could be enlisted.

A report from ESPN.com revealed that the Miami Heat considered adding both Eric Bledsoe and Greg Monroe to their team, but decided against their options. Based on their analysis, the team believes that the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons will definitely strive to match any offer granted to the players under consideration.

Apart from Bledsoe and Monroe, Miami Heat is currently targeting to enlist Chris Douglas-Roberts. This decision was based on his performance as part of the Charlotte Hornets in the previous season. Moreover, Douglas-Roberts has shown the ability to remarkably play both small forward and shooting guard. In this aspect, the targeted player can serve as a reliable reinforcement for Dwayne Wade. In addition to these strengths, Douglas-Roberts has been identified as a strong three-point shooter. Besides possibly playing as backup for Wade, the Hornets player might be able to replace Ray Allen as rumors persist that the latter might follow LeBron in his move as well.
