Mary Mary's Tina Campbell says the Bible helped her more than counselling did while dealing with family death and husband's infidelity

During the most tumultuous moments of life, Mary Mary's Tina Campbell revealed that it was not counselling that helped her get through the death of her father, overcome her husband's infidelity, and deal with lawsuits. Rather, it was the supernatural healing of God's word that helped her move on from all these things.

Campbell talks about this in her new book called I Need a Day to Pray. "The book was like my personal journal to God," Campbell told Parle Magazine. "My dad getting cancer and dying, that gave me something to pray about, getting sued illegitimately... that gave me something to pray about. Having to let go of our entire team... That gave me a lot to think about. And then I was just trying to keep my sanity in the process of all of that because I have five kids that need their mama so that gave me a lot to pray about."

To top it all off, Campbell also had to deal with her husband Teddy's infidelity. When she found out about it, the singer decided to expose it to the world through Ebony magazine. But the couple has come a long way since then. With the help of prayer, Campbell forgave her husband and the two even renewed their vows.

"It was the prayers that change my life; it was believing the prayers and practicing what it said that changed my life. I did counselling. but that doesn't necessarily take away the pain," she admitted. "Thirteen months of counselling, my counselling wasn't helping as much as reading that Bible was. Every time I would read the Bible it just felt like I was praying, it felt like I was protected from all of this craziness of life."

Campbell hopes that through her book, she can inspire others to turn to God and prayer during difficult moments in their own lives.
