Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather next fight: Will it finally happen in Abu Dhabi?

After years of talking about the super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., is it finally going to happen? There have been tons of speculations about the mega-bout for years, with both sides saying that they're willing to do it, only to be curtailed by various issues.

Now, things may be moving forward based on the recent interview of M. Akbar Muhammad, the former Senior Vice President of Top Rank Inc. and now president of Akbar Productions LLC.

In an interview with Boxingscene.com, M.Akbar said: "The location of the proposed Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight will be Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Some members of the media said the fight would be, for instance, in Dubai. That is 100 percent incorrect. Abu Dhabi is and always has been the one and only site for this event."

Fight Saga noted that Mayweather hasn't fought outside Las Vegas, Nevada for a decade now. Even if he was offered a $110 million purse to fight in Abu Dhabi, he still hasn't taken the offer. The last time Floyd took a fight outside Nevada was with Sharmba Mitchell. Pretty Boy was able to stop him in the last minute of Round 6 and that fight took place in Portland, Oregon.

Ever since HBO televised his bouts, Mayweather has chosen to stay in Nevada to fight. But given that this will be the super bout everyone is waiting for, will Money May cave in?  Pacquiao already expressed his interest in making it happen after he won his recent fight with Chris Algieri. In fact, PacMan said that he will feel saddened if it doesn't happen because he just wants the fans to be happy.

Meanwhile, M. Akbar went on to share, "We also envision that future fight cards in this part of world, regardless if Mr. Mayweather fights on them or not, will be done with Mayweather Promotions as the lead promoter. I began my career working with Muhammad Ali, the greatest of all time. Now I'm coming full circle, hopefully to work with the Floyd Mayweather...the best ever!"

Could Akbar Productions LLC actually make an offer that Mayweather can never refuse? The boxing world is hoping that they could to get this show on the road once and for all.
