'Mafia 3' release date news: trailer teases title's driving mechanics

Mafia III 2K Games

2K Games has released a brand-new trailer showcasing the driving mechanics of the upcoming game "Mafia III." Unlike most open-world action games, the driving mechanics in the new title focus a lot on real-world physics, which will make the driving system far more realistic.

As stated in the trailer, the developers have brought in engineers to guarantee that the cars look and behave as realistically as possible. Different kinds of road surfaces will affect how the cars handle and each vehicle is affected by its engine power, weight and other real-world capabilities.

It is further explained that the goal is to simulate the driving seen in classic 1960s action movies such as "Bullitt," which starred Steve McQueen.

This may make driving feel different from other video games, and it is stated that drifting does take some practice but it all blends in seamlessly once the mechanics have been mastered. As stated in a report from Cinema Blend, driving may become the preferred way of travelling in "Mafia III" due to the improved driving system.

A separate video from IGN also showcases a brand-new mechanic that players can do when driving. Called "Driving Like a Mad Man," this mechanic sees players forcing someone into the passenger seat of a car and then driving as they interrogate the hostage. By driving frantically and recklessly they can scare the hostage to share information.

Once the person has shared vital information, the player can then choose to either kill the hostage or toss them out of the car to spare them. However, this does not automatically guarantee their safety as it is possible to toss the person out of the moving vehicle at a point where they might slam into another moving vehicle or a building, killing them.

"Mafia III" releases this Oct. 7 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
