MacBook Pro, MacBook Air discount deals indicate launch of MacBook 2016 in Q4

Apple has been dishing out discount deals left and right for their MacBook Pro and MacBook Air products, indicating that the company is trying to clear some shelf space for their upcoming MacBook Pro and MacBook Air 2016 models.

According to a report from Master Herald, this indicates that the 2016 models could be released by the end of 2015. The report cites that the expected release window for the new laptop models is March next year. However, since Apple is giving out numerous discount deals, the company might be trying to speed up the processs to get their new products out early, presumably by October.

Just this July 12, Apple offered a 24-hour window for customers to avail of a $500 discount on their 2014 13-inch MacBook Air model MF068LL/A.

According to a report from Apple Insider, they also previously offered $500 discount deals for many of their 2014 models, but this promo only ran until July 10. Some of these discount deals included a 15-inch MacBook Pro (2.8 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD) for only $2,699 instead of its retail price of $3,199, and a 15-inch MacBook Pro (2.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB HDD) for $1,819.00 instead of $1,999.00. These discounts also included free expedited shipping and no sales tax for orders outside New York.

According to a report from the Inquisitr, the MacBook Air 2016 and MacBook Pro 2016 are likely to be released the same time Apple launches the next iPhone, presumed to either be the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7, as well as a new lineup of iPad products.

Fans speculate that Apple is pushing for an early release of their products in order to compete against Microsoft's upcoming Surface Pro 4, which has no definitive release date but is rumored to be released by early 2016. If Apple can get their products out earlier, then they will be able to enjoy a competition-free market for a few months, boosting their sales.
