MacBook Pro 2016 release date with iPad 3?

The current model of the MacBook Pro Apple

The highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 model failed to release during the recent Christmas holidays, and as previously reported, it is now being suggested that it may be unveiled at Apple's upcoming March event. According to a report from BreatheCast, there is also the chance the laptop may launch simultaneously with the iPad 3.

The iPad 3 has been in development for quite some time and was not launched last year, instead giving the spotlight to the iPad Pro. It is now being hinted that the iPad 3 and iPad Air 3 will launch together this spring but with them comes the latest Apple laptop and the Apple Watch 2.

According to the report, the reason the laptop was not launched last year was to avoid self-competition. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus launched together with the iPad Pro and it would only diminish their sales if they were to release other Apple products at the same time.

The event, according to MacRumors, is called "Spring Forward" and will begin this coming March 9. During this event, only the 13-inch model is said to be unveiled as the 15-inch version of the MacBook Pro will be showcased on March 19. Unlike previous reports, it is stated that the MacBook Pro 2016 will sport the Intel Broadwell chipset instead of the Intel Skylake-U processor.

Both models will come with the new Force Touch trackpad, better graphical capabilities, longer battery life and improved flash storage with higher RAM. There is also the rumor that the MacBook Pro will sport a new fingerprint scanner for improved security measures as well.

The report also points out that the selling price for the laptops will go from $1,299 to $1,799. It is also possible that a newer version sporting the Intel Skylake-U processors may be released later on in the year or by early 2017,, although there are no direct confirmations of this speculation.
