'Longmire' season 4 update: Filming to start March 2015, stars ready to go

"Longmire" fans may be shouting on the top of their lungs now or jumping enthusiastically upon hearing the news of their success. Yes, fans did a lot of work in getting a network to pick up "Longmire" for another season. Now, their efforts are rewarded as Netflix has picked up the TV show for another season.

So, what's the latest news on "Longmire" season 4 then? Well, there's really not much. According to Carter Matt, it's a quiet period now. No one is saying anything yet. "Longmire" and Netflix are being careful with spoilers, which is great since the surprise factor can really be a huge drawing factor when it is released on Netflix.

The site did say that filming for season 4 will start in March, which could mean that, as of the moment, the writers are busy penning the scripts for the next run of the series. Moreover, Carter Matt also revealed that when the show airs its fourth season, it will pick up right where it left off in season 3 — the cliffhanger with Branch.

As for casting information, Netflix might reveal this info when the show is close to production already. Also, Carter Matt thinks that predictions are hard to make at this point, given that there's no official release date yet. And with Netflix releasing a full season in one go, all "Longmire" episodes may have already been finished by then.

Meanwhile, "Longmire" actors Lou Diamond Phillips and Robert Taylor have taken to Twitter to air their excitement about doing season 4.

"The Saga continues! Very excited to see where S4 takes us with #LongmireOnNetflix Thanks @netflix We ride for the brand!" tweeted Phillips.

"Awesome job posse, keep riding. Regards, Rob. #LongmireOnNetflex @LongmirePosse," tweeted Taylor.

Until then, or maybe until the writers, actors and the network are definite on what direction they are taking, it looks like there will be a slight news blackout from the show. But for what it's worth, fans can safely say that everyone behind "Longmire" is baking a huge surprise for every viewer out there.
