Longmire season 4: Cast and fans hope to find the show a new home

After A&E cancelled one of its highest-rated scripted series, "Longmire" fans still see a glimpse of hope that they will still enjoy their favorite show on TV even beyond the sad news. While the reason behind the network's decision to not air the series' fourth season remains a mystery for many, devoted fans now work hand in hand with the cast and crew of the hit series to find the show a new home.

Viewers were left with a cliffhanger when the third season of "Longmire" came to a close, so it is almost obvious that a new season for the crime drama is about to dawn. However, the network's surprising move to shake its head for the airing of its continuation takes everyone aback.

Fans have taken their feelings to social media regarding the fate of the show and trended the hashtag #LongLiveLongmire while tweeting photos and thoughts about the show.

Since the show's airing in 2012, the "Longmire" cast and crew transformed into a family, and that very same family only expanded as more and more viewers look forward to the drama series. Lou Diamond Philips even tweeted back to a fan of how happy he is in being part of the show.

He said, "LouDPhilipps: @LaurieMit @mamalou8 Doing something you love with people you love and that makes others happy? I don't call that work! #LongLiveLongmire"

Meanwhile, Katee Sackhoff who plays the role of sheriff deputy Vic Moretti claims that she knew this was coming. Kate told HIVPlusMag that 'key demographics in the business are gold, and that key demo is 18-to-25' which Longmire, as adjudged by advertisers and investors, do not target.

However, the optimism of the "Longmire" family does not wane while they await for another network to nod to its fourth season airing. Should it be successful, 2015 will be the year Longmire will return for the new season.
