'Longmire' season 5 release date, plot spoilers: Donna rumored to be the mastermind of the attacks last season

Vic and Walt in Longmire season 5 Netflix

"Longmire" season 5 will have to deal with the season 4 finale where Walt (Robert Taylor) and Donna (Ally Walker) were having an intimate moment when an unidentified intruder suddenly broke into the house.

According to a report from the IB Times, this intruder may only be after Walt as he is rumored to be in league in Donna.

According to the report, it is possible that Donna is the one behind all of the attacks that have happened thus far. It is also pointed out that she is most likely working alongside Walker Browning (Callum Keith Rennie). Throughout the show, Browning and Walt have had numerous issues against each other, which would give Browning enough reason to attack Walt.

This is further emphasized by the fact that the hospital bed where Browning was meant to be in was now empty, indicating he had left unannounced and could already be on his way to cause trouble for Walt. However, it is not explained how or why Donna would be working alongside Browning.

The IB Times also held a special poll asking fans if they wanted Walt to continue his relationship with Donna or if he should get together with Vic (Katee Sackhoff), a character Walt is already romantically involved with in the original novel series.

However, the report points out that a majority of the poll's participants did not want Walt and Vic together. The only reason some poll participants did not agree to this is because the two have a father-daughter type of relationship on the show and because Vic appears too immature for Walt.

If the rumors prove true and Donna is indeed involved, then it is possible Walt will end the relationship and sooner or later become romantically involved with Vic, as is the case in the books.

"Longmire" season 5 is preparing to begin production this month and the series is speculated to premiere on Netflix this September 2016.
