'Longmire' season 4 update, plot news: Katee Sackhoff nearly done filming her scenes

Longmire A&E/Netflix

Actress Katee Sackhoff has turned to Twitter to announce that she is almost done filming her character's scenes for season 4 of "Longmire." According to her Twitter post, she only has thirteen scenes to shoot and then she will be moving out to Los Angeles before flying to Wales to begin shooting her scenes for the film "Don't Knock Twice."

Sackhoff gained her popularity from playing Kara Thrace on "Battlestar Galactica" and for her role in Vin Diesel's "Riddick." She also voiced Detective Sarah Essen in "Batman: Year One" and played a version of herself in several episodes of "The Big Bang Theory."

As pointed out in a report from Carter Matt, just because her scenes are done doesn't mean that production is also done for everyone else. It is very possible that there are still dozens of scenes left to shoot — it just so happens that Sackhoff won't appear in any of them.

However, it does indicate that production is going along nicely and that it may be nearing its end. If this is true, then it is very possible that Netflix will finally announce when season 4 will be available on their streaming network. As of the moment, Netflix has only announced that season 4 will premiere this fall.

Netflix has also been quite tight-lipped regarding the season's plot. Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger regarding Branch and Barlow. The final scenes did not show which of the two men were shot. It is very likely that the premiere episode of season 4 will immediately address this cliffhanger.

Walt was also set to confront Nighthorse, who he believes has a big connection to the death of his wife, when he heard the gunshot.

"Longmire" was initially cancelled by A&E but almost immediately after this, a campaign was launched by fans via Twitter in order for the show to carry on elsewhere. After a long debate, the show was picked up by Netflix, which is where the fourth season will be exclusively distributed. Season 4 will have a total of 10 episodes.
