The rumored LG G4 is speculated to pack LG's own mobile processor.

LG Electronics recently announced its own processor dubbed as Nuclun.  According to Know Your Mobile, Nuclun is an octa-core processor that boasts four 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex-A15 cores for heavier processing tasks and four 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 cores for less demanding workloads.  It is reportedly equipped with LTE-A Cat.6 network capabilities that will enable 4G speeds up to 300 mbps.

With the announcement of this new processor, rumors point that the chipset will land on the upcoming smartphone – the LG G4. But there have also been speculations that the G4 will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 810, since LG's earlier devices, the LG G3 and LG G2, are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. The LG G3 sports a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, while the LG G2 is equipped with a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800.

According to rumors, the LG G4 will have a strong sapphire screen display just like the new Apple Watch, which will surely give the smartphone an edge even over Apple smartphones.

Not much is known about the upcoming smartphone from LG, but according to the grapevine, it will most likely be released in May 2015 just like its predecessor, the LG G3. Although LG G2 was released in August 2013, the tech company learned to release its devices earlier in order to not lose to its Android-based rivals like Samsung, HTC and Sony that announce their communication artillery early.

Meanwhile, the LG G3 packs a 5.5-inch screen display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, an Adreno 330 graphics chip, the latest Android operating system, a 13 MP back camera, and 3000 mAh battery. Buyers can take home the device for $99 with a two-year contract with carriers offering the smartphone.

However, LG Electronics has not commented yet on the rumors surrounding the device.
