A premium version of the LG G3 is supposed to hit the market in September, according to reports.
LG Electronics recently unveiled an updated version of its LG G3 smartphone in its home court in South Korea, dubbed as LG G3 Cat 6. The South Korean mobile company is rumored to release the LG G3 Prime.
Geeky Gadgets cited an unnamed source who claimed that LG G3 Prime will be launched in the UK in late September. The report added that the handset will debut at the IFA 2014 event slated to take place on the first week of September.
The LG G3 Prime will come with the same specs and features as that of the LG G3 Cat 6 handset. The smartphone will pack a faster quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz paired with 3GB RAM. For its screen display, the handset will pack the same 5.5 inch Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution as the original LG G3.
The smartphone will also pack a 2.1 megapixel front facing camera for video calls and a 13 megapixel rear camera. The LG G3 Prime will also run with the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. Although it is not confirmed yet, it is suspected that the smartphone will come with a casing made out of metal or other premium materials.
Meanwhile, US retailer Best Buy is giving its customers huge discounts to make them buy the LG G3. Consumers can choose to pay for the full price and be off the hook of the two-year contract. However, buyers should sign up with Sprint Easy Pay, Verizon Edge or AT&T Next. Buyers may also opt to pay nothing and have the payment for the handset in the succeeding months of their contract.
Based on the official features of LG G3, the handset will feature a 5.5-inch True HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touchscreen; a quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and a Qualcomm MSM8975AC Snapdragon 801 chipset; 13 megapixel primary back camera with optical image stabilization, phase detection and dual-LED flash and 2.1 MP front facing camera; and 3000 mAh battery.
The handset is available in two variants: the 16GB version will pack 2GB of RAM and the 32GB model will pack a 3GB RAM. Both devices are equipped with microSD slot for additional external storage of up to 128GB. Moreover, the handset will run with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS, which will be upgraded to Android 4.4.4 version with an update.
