LG G Flex 2: self-healing and bending phone to launch at 2015 International CES

When Apple surprisingly announced that the iPhone 6 has a bending feature, Apple followers and non-followers were immediately intrigued by it. But later, the hype died down a bit when reviews came out about the iPhone 6 actually breaking or not going back to its shape once bent.

What many aren't aware of is that LG already launched a phone last year that has the ability to bend, the LG G Flex. While it may not have gained that much traction as the iPhone, it certainly has more features worth looking into.

The LG G Flex has a 6-inch screen and the phone is bendable. It also had a self-healing back that can repair its own minor damage and scratches. But this phone was released in October of 2013 and it's time for a newer version of it. Thus, LG is said to be getting ready to launch the LG G Flex 2.

Android Authority reported that the Flex 2 will be more flexible. It will be made of a special hard rubber chassis that can bend up to 90 degrees. But if there's one thing that really makes this new phone interesting, it is the rumored flexible battery. After all, common sense says that if one expects a phone to bend and still properly function, the hardware and internal parts should be made flexible, too.

Further, LG has reportedly improved the QHD display for the Flex as well. Before, it was only a 720p display phone but is said to be upgraded to a resolution of 1080p.

So, when will this awesome phone come out? iDigitalTimes says that LG will launch the new LG G Flex 2 at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show on Jan. 6 to 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
