A lot of games in the market deal with the topics of hand-to-hand combat and warfare. Despite such popularity, only a few developers go in depth into making them as realistic as possible, and that is what Warhorse Studios pride themselves with.

Warhorse Studios is the creator of "Kingdom Come: Deliverance," an open-world role-playing game that brings players back to the medieval kingdom of Bohemia. In this era, war is waged through swords and metal, thus definitely not for the faint of heart. It plunges the gamer into a situation that is critical and exhilarating at the same time.

In the last teaser released for the game, creative director Daniel Vavrá explained how authentic the game is going to be in terms of battle and damage. Along with his assistants, he demonstrated how weapons and armor work in the real world, which they are painstakingly incorporating into the development of the game.

Vavrá showed that an armorless character could mean an instant game over when sustaining stab wounds, making the audience realize that "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" won't be the usual hack-and-slash title. Players can't recklessly go into war without thinking about how to survive with the needed equipment.

The mechanics of the game, not only the storyline, endeavors to be a truthful depiction of battles in the olden times. The teaser showed how damage from slash, stab, or blunt attacks can be reduced with the aid of appropriate armor. Information from this knowledge is then carried over to the game, making it a battle of strategy and not of strength alone.

It has been quite some time since Warhorse Studios released a teaser, but a recent interview posted on Weekly Torch could be pointing to a new footage soon. Video content manager Václav Prchlík said: "Currently I am working on materials for our next video. I don't want to reveal more, it will be a very interesting video...hopefully!"

Prchlík mentioned that aside from the visuals and the life-like environment, players can expect the same real-life nature of the game. Non-playable characters act on their own as they would in a true-to-life scenario, which makes it even more believable. Furthermore, the combat system influenced by weapons and armor is also something to watch.

"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" will roll out on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2017.
