Justin Bieber picks up dinner tab of NYPD

Usually, the police take pictures of Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber because he has just gotten into trouble - be it a drunken arrest or a notorious public scuffle. But this time, members of the New York Police District (NYPD) took a picture with the young star as a thank you for a free meal.

Bieber was eating at the Comfort Diner in NYC on Friday night, TMZ reported, when he saw a group of police officers having dinner next to him. So he generously picked up their tab - around $200 as an act of appreciation for everything they've done for the city.

To remember that special moment, he had a picture taken with five members of the NYPD and posted it in Shots. The photo has since received over 400,000 likes.

Despite his bad boy image, Bieber is into charity work and has been spreading his blessings any way he can.

Just recently, he donated some childhood memorabilia, including size 7 Nike shoes, Toronto Suns comforter, pillowcase, and a ceiling lamp to the Stratford House of Blessing, a Christian community food bank founded in 1983.

The items, all signed by the singer, managed to generate lots of cash for the food bank. Bieber's Nike shoes were auctioned off for $62,000, while the comforter sold for more than $6,000. His pillowcase was sold for more than $3,000, while the light came in just under $2,000.

Last May, Bieber dropped big bucks during the amfAR Annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala. The nonprofit foundation  was raising money for AIDS research, and the singer surprised the crowd that night by pledging $545,000.

Bieber earlier professed that he is turning his life around and committed to help more people any way he can. On his Instagram account, he wrote, "Life is not about having fun, it's about being fulfilled. What's more fun than knowing your purpose and being encouraged because you went the extra mile to help someone else?"
