The first installment of "Justice League" turned out quite shaky, but supporting characters such as Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are still slated to have their own solo films, much like Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill).
Much of "Justice League" centered around the events that transpired after its prequel, "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice." While "Justice League" centered more on Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), it still became a good springboard to introduce newcomers Aquaman, Cyborg, and Flash (Ezra Miller), who will be having his own movie as well.
The new posters revealed for Momoa's upcoming movie and Fisher's potential 2020 movie debuted in Justice League's official instagram page. The posters share a similar theme of having a painted design as opposed to a modern one full of computer generated imagery (CGI).
The posters make use of vibrant colors for the design. Using the silhouette of the characters, it tells a story by putting the characters inside their own silhouettes, this time with an environment around them.
For example, Aquaman's new poster shows him submerged halfway through in a lake that looks to be in a place like Iceland. The hero also has his "Trident" with him, signifying that he has accepted his role as a protector, which he persistently declined during the early events of "Justice League."
On the other hand, Cyborg's poster looks to have a lot more storytelling compared to Aquaman's static and tranquil-looking poster. The design is adorned with sharp colors of purple, which comes from the robotic lights jutted across the superhero's body. Inside Cyborg's silhouette is him standing in between abandoned buildings devoid of light or life. Aside from the war-torn buildings, a horde of parademons from "Justice League" seem to be approaching the superhero.
While "Justice League" may have faltered in 2017, "Aquaman" "Flash" and "Cyborg" movies should give Warner Bros. and DC Comics a chance to rebound, especially after successfully introducing them.
The new posters give fans a unique twist on how comics-based movies are advertised, which can be a great start for the upcoming movies.
