'Just Cause 3' release date: pre-order offers three exclusive weaponized vehicles; game set end of year

Just Cause 3 Avalanche Studios

Square Enix and Avalanche just released the reveal trailer for "Just Cause 3" and the hype for the game has been building up since. Most of the trailer highlights the game's new engine and gameplay mechanics but details about the game's pre-order exclusives also come into light.

Steam users that check out the game's product page will notice that there is a special pre-order bonus. The pre-order offers a special Weaponized Vehicle Pack that gives players the Mugello Delphino GLF speedboat, Urga Pocomaxa X4 buggy, and the Kerner Serpente R12 sports car.

The speedboat comes with dual mini-guns, giving players an advantage when fighting on water. The buggy, on the other hand, is an all-terrain vehicle with mounted machine guns, making it a useful vehicle for rough combat situations. For a refined rush through the highways, players can choose the sports car which comes with its own set of rocket launchers.

Steam pre-orders also offer a 10 percent discount so gamers looking forward to the next entry in the "Just Cause" franchise should avail of the title while it is still early. One of the only apprehensions most players express is that the game still doesn't have a definitive release date.

Rumors across the blogosphere point to a November release date but Avalanche Studios has not commented on the matter. It is more likely that fans will be able to acquire the game in December, right before the turn of the year.

"Just Cause 3" sees the return of Rico Rodriguez in his home island of Medici, a fictional Mediterranean location. He is no longer a member of the Agency and is now working on his own to topple the rule of the dictator General di Ravello.

Favorite gameplay mechanics like the parachute and grappling hook make a return, this time with new improvements such as the ability to grapple to multiple objects simultaneously. A new wingsuit will be included and players are now given infinite use of C4 explosives.
