'Jurassic World' movie spoilers: features original park - I-Rex has human DNA?

Jurassic World - early poster Universal Pictures

"Jurassic World" is being marketed as a direct sequel to the first "Jurassic Park" movie without entirely ignoring "The Lost World" and "Jurassic Park III." This is even more evident in the newest trailer that reveals Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) visiting the ruins of the old Welcome Center from the first film.

One of the earliest promotional posters for "Jurassic World" shows a raptor standing atop the ruined jeep from the first film with the new park being constructed off in the distance. This indicates that the new park uses only a portion of Isla Nublar, with many areas still covered in ruins and wild dinosaurs.

The latest trailer proves this when it shows the two characters hiding in the old Welcome Center. This is the same Welcome Center where the T-Rex stormed in to fight the velociraptors just moments before they attacked Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neil), Dr. Sattler (Laura Dern) and the kids.

According to a report from iDigital Times, Owen may be hiding behind one of the original Jurassic Park jeeps. These jeeps were electronically controlled in the first film, with one of them being wrecked by the Tyrannosaurus Rex when it first broke out of its perimeter.

Re-visiting the old park isn't the only new tidbit regarding the upcoming film. According to a report from the IBTimes, it is possible that the new creature, the Indominus Rex, may contain human DNA. The report goes as far as speculating that it might contain the DNA of Owen Grady.

According to the report, the I-Rex is a genetically enhanced dinosaur that has the DNA of a Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Rugops and Majungosaurus. However, the site also points out that the dinosaur has prehensile hands, meaning it has a thumb, therefore capable of grasping. This is a feature that only primates, including humans, have. IBTimes points out that Claire expresses concern and guilt toward Owen and it may be because she stuck in his DNA while working on the I-Rex.

"Jurassic World" opens in theaters on June 12.
