Joyce Meyer: People who treat God as their partner in life are free from worry and fear

Worrying is like sitting on a rocking chair going back and forth with no relief in sight, says Joyce Meyer.

Whenever people try to do things their own way and not heed God's help, they often end up getting worn out and frustrated by their mistakes and failures. In the end, people become burdened by worry, but popular Christian speaker and author Joyce Meyer is urging Christians to do away with unnecessary worry and trust God instead.

"When we lean on God, we actually enter into His rest and can enjoy our lives, no matter what our circumstances may be," she wrote on her website.

Meyer said the stress in one's life comes from how people approach their circumstances in life, and the attitude they have towards them. "It was a turning point for me when I realised that the world will probably never change, but I could learn how to change the way I go about handling situations that are challenging," she realised.

One key thing Meyer discovered is that when people treat God as a partner in life, then one can live a life without worry, fear, anxiety, and frustration. With God working His miracles in one's life, then peace and joy can be achieved.

It can get difficult for people who like to take charge and let go of the reins, but it will not help if they keep on thinking, "I kind of think You need my help, and I'm not sure You can take care of this situation, Lord."

"We need to realise that worrying is useless," she stressed. "It's like sitting in a rocking chair, rocking all day, wearing yourself out and getting nowhere. Trusting God means we give up worrying, reasoning, and anxiety and we enter into His rest with simple childlike faith — we live by grace through faith!"
