iWatch release date will come soon as latest reports claimed that professional athletes like Kobe Bryant and Dustin Brown are testing the product in Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

According to Apple-centric website 9to5Mac, Apple is reportedly recruiting professional athletes from the NBA, NHL and MLB to test its rumored iWatch. The testing aims to ensure that the alleged smartwatch is capable of withstanding rigorous training environments.

Some of the players reported to be participating in Apple's initiative are Los Angeles Lakers star player Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Kings right wing Dustin Brown, and a few other star athletes, including a player from the Boston Red Sox. The report added that the athletes signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding the existence of the upcoming smartwatch.

This most recent development in Apple hinted that the iWatch will focus mainly on fitness, which means that some of the components and main features of the device will be on that particular area. This also suggested that the new wearable devices could be targeting sports and fitness enthusiasts. Thus, with the inclusion of fitness apps and features in the new iOS 8, the smartwatch could be an indispensable wearable for athletes in the future.

The HealthKit in the iOS 8 allows users to monitor and measure the heart rate as well as the calories burned. Moreover, other reports claimed that Apple is currently working on advanced sensor to monitor user's hydration levels, blood pressure and sweat.

9to5Mac also cited that Apple hired the former Nike Fitness consultant, Jay Blahnik, in 2013. He is most likely working with these athletes for the iWatch testing.

Rumors claimed that the upcoming Apple wearable device will come with a 2.5 inch display. There is a possibility that Apple will make use of Sapphire screen in the device since the gadget will be subjected to rigorous environments in fitness and sports.

The Apple iWatch is rumored to be released in September or October alongside other Apple devices such as the iPhone 6. Moreover, the alleged smartwatch can be synced with the Apple's iPhone although details and features have not been revealed by the Cupertino-based company yet.
