iPhone X vs iPhone 8 specs, price comparison, reviews: Which one is the best fit?

With the coming holidays, consumers are most probably looking into spending their bonuses on something nice, like the highly coveted iPhone 8 and iPhone X. Find out which of Apple's newest gadgets are the best fit in the comparison below.

First off is design. Both phones sport industrial designs, but iPhone X is arguably the more standout. The almost bezel-less phone sports a screen that stretches right to the edges, a futuristic design that makes it more eye-catching than usual. The cut-out at the top dips into the screen and also contains various helpful sensors as well as the front camera.

Both iPhones sport black glass backs. Although that looks sleek, whether it is also durable is yet to be confirmed. Both are also water-resistant.

iPhone 8 still has that iconic circular home button, which also allows for Touch ID. iPhone X, meantime, traded that for the headphone jack. Touch ID was also replaced with the new Face ID in the 10th anniversary phone.

Moving on to specs, both are powered by A11 Bionic chip, most likely powered by Snapdragon 835. That means smoother performance and better battery life for both gadgets.

The two sport a big difference in screen, as the iPhone X got a huge upgrade into OLED, which offers perfect blacks and more vivid colors, as well as higher resolution 2436 x 1125. iPhone 8 still uses the old IPS LCD display.

As for the camera, iPhone 8 has one 12-megapixel sensor, while iPhone X has dual 12-megapixel cameras, the extra sensor working as an optical telephoto zoom lens. Selfie addicts would also love iPhone X's front camera, which sports the same quality of photos as the rear.

Price wise, the small 4.7-inch iPhone 8 starts at $699, while the bigger 5.7-inch iPhone 8 Plus starts at $799. iPhone X is of course much pricier at $1,149.
