In recent months, numerous rumors regarding the iPhone 7 have touted a lot of new features for the device, and now, it appears that Apple wants to see how they all work.
According to Know Your Mobile, it appears that Apple is experimenting with five different prototypes of the iPhone 7. Each of these comes with its own unique set of specs and features. Apple is reportedly using the five different prototypes in order to see exactly which set of specs and features will be best for the iPhone 7 that they will eventually decide to send to the market.
Apple has also focused on some specific features that they want to test for the iPhone 7.
Some of the features that are reportedly being tested out in these prototypes include enhanced multi-Force Touch technology, according to Tech Radar.
Other features that have also been rumored to be found in the iPhone 7 prototypes are USB Type-C connectors. Recently, speculations have also popped up suggesting that the iPhone 7 may no longer feature the conventional headphone jack, although it's unclear if that specific iteration is also available as a prototype.
The displays of the prototypes themselves are also believed to be different, with some sporting the Touch ID technology within the screen. Some of the iPhone 7 versions are also believed to be equipped with AMOLED screens, although this particular feature is not expected to be a part of the final product.
Other noteworthy features that are supposedly included in the versions being tested are wireless charging and dual camera settings.
With so many configurations available, it's too early to guess which set ends up being included in the official version of the iPhone 7.
As of now, the iPhone 7 is expected to be released sometime in late 2016, meaning more features could still end up being included in the new device beyond the ones that have already been mentioned.
