New reports from China claimed that the iPhone 6 release date will be on Sept. 25 alongside the iPhone Air.

Macrumors cited China.com which reportedly got hold of information from inside sources that China will be one of the first countries to purchase the device. The report added that the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 phablet will be coined as iPhone Air.

The dubious Chinese report also revealed the expected pricing for the new devices in the country. The 32GB of the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 is reportedly price at 5,288 yuan ($850), while the 16GB version of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 costs 5,998 yuan ($965). If these prices are to believe, there is a slight price cut on the smartphones. Moreover, the handsets will be available in Chinese carriers China Mobile and China Unicom and testing on their 4G networks.

It was initially reported that the iPhone 6 release date was pegged for September 19, which is most likely to be true based on the releases of previous iPhones. The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were released on Sept. 20 last year and the iPhone 5 was launched in Sept. 21 in 2012.

Rumors are also consistent with the claims that the next generation of Apple flagship will come in two variants. One model will sport a 4.7 inch screen panel and the other has 5.5 inch screen display. There were talks that the 5.5 inch variant of iPhone 6 will be available a few months after the release of the 4.7 inch model. The smaller version of iPhone 6 is rumored to be released in its usual launch window in September and the 5.5 inch phablet is rumored to be launched in October.

The high end Apple handsets were predicted to pack the next-gen 64-bit A8 processor, iOS 8, as well as improved fingerprint sensor and camera. However, the Cupertino-based company has not revealed the official specs and features of its flagship phone.
