iPhone 6 and iWatch release date on Sept. 9: Three reasons why we should care

iPhone 6's release date is pegged on the 9th of September and the flagship smartphone will be launched alongside the wearable device – iWatch.

Re/code strengthened the rumors that Apple's upcoming smartphone will come in two sizes. Now, the publication is saying that the company will release the iWatch earlier than expected. Apple has sent out invitations Thursday confirming the Sept. 9 event.

Earlier this summer, previous reports stated that Apple's iWatch will arrive in October, and the company is crunching to produce three to five million units per month of the device. The iPhone 6, on the other hand, is reportedly currently in production and the company is expecting to sell 80 million units of the device.

There are three reasons why consumers should anticipate the Sept. 9 release date of Apple. First, the company will introduce the iPhone 6, which is packed with upgraded specs and features. According to rumors, iPhone 6 will be available in two variants – one with a 4.7 screen panel that is set to arrive next month, the other variant is set to pack a 5.5 inches screen display reported to arrive in October. Some of the other rumored features of iPhone 6 are a 64-bit A8 processor, iOS 8, as well as improved fingerprint sensor and camera.

Also, iWatch is Apple's take on smartwatch category, which will rival the existing wearable devices from other tech companies such as Samsung and LG. Apple's smartwatch may offer more functions and capabilities compared to its rivals.

Lastly, iOS 8 will be launched on the said date heralding new features and functions. One of the new features of the new operating system is the S Health, which includes functions for health purposes like heart rate sensors.
