Chinese carriers are reportedly taking pre-orders of the unannounced iPhone 6.
China Mobile and China Telecom are allegedly offering the new smartphone ahead of its launch event on Sept. 9. The latter put up a pre-order page. The carrier used photos of an iPhone 6 concept image along with specifications that are unfounded.
China Mobile, on the other hand, took pre-orders of iPhone 6 last week and managed to get 33,000 orders in just hours. This proved the popularity and anticipation to the new iPhone. China Mobile tries very hard to attract and sign new users to get them over to their side. The carrier has been improving its 4G data connection.
Analysts believe that the upcoming iPhone 6 will entice upgraders and Android smartphone users to switch to the new iPhone.
According to MacRumors, the smartphone will sport a 4.7-inch screen with 416 ppi or 1704 x 960 display resolution. Moreover, the handset will include an A8 processor and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and it will be supported by 2,100 mAh battery.
A 64-bit A8 processor, iOS 8, as well as improved fingerprint sensor and camera are some of the other suspected features of the upcoming iPhone 6.
It is also said that the iPhone 6 will be available in two variants. If speculations prove to be true, then the one with 4.7 screen panel is set to arrive next month, while the other variant with a 5.5-inch display will arrive in October.
iPhone 6 will be released alongside iWatch, which is Apple's take on smartwatch category, which will rival the existing wearable devices from other tech companies such as Samsung and LG. Apple's smartwatch may offer more functions and capabilities compared to its rivals.
The upcoming unveiling event will be held in a new venue at the De Anza College campus. In the previous years, Apple usually held its iPhone events in Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco or on Apple's campus in Cupertino.
The official Apple website added a live page that features a countdown timer as well as other details about the special event on Sept. 9.
Apple's keynote event will begin at 1 p.m. EDT/ 10 a.m. PDT. The system requirement to make the event streaming work is a Safari Web browser using a OS X 10.6.8 or later versions and iOS 6.0 or later editions.
