iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comparison: Perks of the latest high-profile, large-screen smartphones

With Apple's iPhone 6 Plus already launched this month, fans of the "Galaxy Note" series are also looking forward to the launching of Samsung's latest offering, the Galaxy Note 4, this October. 

The iPhone 6 Plus,have already been met with mixed reviews, although one of its highlights is that it comes with a 5.5-inch display that has 1920 x 1080 resolution for greater clarity and is said to be sharper than that of the iPhone 6.

Apple incorporated the 3264 x 2448 pixel rear camera with dual-LED flash into the iPhone 6 Plus, which also allows for phase detection autofocus. Interestingly, the latest "Focus Pixels" system of the smartphone will enable users to quickly and accurately focus on their subject as they take photos.

Regarding customization of covers, iPhone 6 Plus users are being offered with gold, white or gray whereas storage options include 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. 

The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 2915 mAh battery, is powered by a speedy A8 64-bit processor; and runs on the iOS 8 with which the Touch ID fingerprint sensor is deemed as one of its most remarkable perks.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 4 has also received praises when it comes to its display and overall performance. As it takes on the 5.7-inch form similar to that of the Note 3, the new device features a 1080p, full HD display QHD screen capable of 2560 x 1440 resolution.

Its power comes from a 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and comes with 32GB storage and microSD expansion. The Galaxy Note 4's 3200mAh Lithium-Ion battery also allows users with a full day charge. Moreover, the phone's battery can be charged as quick as 50 percent in just under 30 minutes.

Users of the upcoming smartphone can choose their covers from a wide range of colors, namely charcoal black, bronze gold, blossom pink and frost white.

Using the Android 4.4.4 KitKat, the Galaxy Note 4 also features a fingerprint sensor and is expected to be more responsive to its S-Pen as compared to the previous models in the series.

Prices of the iPhone 6 Plus have already been released. Off-contract prices typically range between $300 and $500, depending on its storage option. Specifically, the phone has been priced at $299.99 for 16GB, $399.99 for the 64GB, and $499.99 for the 128GB, although promotions and deals by mobile carriers may alter such expected prices. 

Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 is expected to come at a price between $700 and $900, depending on mobile carriers and retailers.
