iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are reportedly bound to outsell Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Edge, according to the latest reports.

Apple happily announced that the pre-order sales of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus broke the previous pre-order sales record due to the overwhelming demand for the new smartphones.

"Demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October," Apple said.

The new iPhone broke the record of four million units in the first 24 hours since the pre-order opened.

"iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do. Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can't wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday," said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

The company surprised many Apple fans when it made a big jump in terms of screen size. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a huge 5.5-inch screen display, a huge difference from the 4-inch screen panel of the older models. The iPhone 6 Plus is Apple's entry in the phablet category, and it is expected to battle head on with Samsung's recently released phablets – Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge.

However, analysts are not confident with the Samsung's earnings in the second and third quarters. According to Gadget Insiders, Samsung's earning were underwhelming as the sales of the Galaxy S5 were disappointing. When the South Korean tech giant announced its new phablets earlier this month, many began to be hopeful that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could turn it around.
