iOS 7.1.1 update code confirms fall release date for iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3

iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 release date will come soon as the iOS 7.1.1 update confirmed the devices' launch in the fall.

Apple has announced the new OS upgrade for its various devices while the company is prepping up for the roll out of iOS 8 in the fall. The new iOS 7.1.1 brings a myriad of enhancements to the Apple devices, including keyboard improvement. The latest iOS update also comes with a new call screen making it simpler than before.

Although many Apple fans were ecstatic by the news of the update, revisions for newer iPads have been noticed in the code given in the 7.1 release. The new iOS 7.1 has support for an iPad 4.3 and an iPad 4.6. Two of the aforementioned models do not exist yet.

The document showed various models of iPad and 9to5Mac.com explained that the iPad 4.1 and iPad 4,2 are the current iPad Air models and the iPad 4,4 and iPad 4,5 are the iPad mini with Retina display. Thus, the iPad 4,3 and an iPad 4.6 could be the next models of iPads.

"We think the upgraded iPad Air will be launched earlier in 2014 than the iPad Air was in 2013. We previously thought Apple would not release a new version of the iPad Mini this year, but we now think Apple will launch an upgraded version with same form factor," Ming-chi Kuo told MacRumors.

The next generation of tablets was speculated to be nearing their debut since the current models are offered at a discounted price. Apple slashed $30 educational discount on iPad Air and $20 price off on the iPad Mini Retina.

Meanwhile, rumors claimed that iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 will pack a TouchID fingerprint sensor, A8 processor, iOS 8 and waterproof feature. The tablet was speculated to arrive in October, which is the usual launch window of Apple's tablets. However, there were reports that the tablets could arrive earlier than usual.
