iOS 8.3 jailbreak release delayed by iOS 8.4's impending launch

The Apple iPhone 6 Plus, running on iOS 8 Apple

Both TaiG and Pangu are teams dedicated to jailbreaking the Apple iOS in order to allow free customization and app downloads. However, the release of a jailbreak for iOS 8.3 may be delayed because of the inevitable release of iOS 8.4.

GottaBeMobile explains that the reason for the delay is Apple's security schedules. Once the jailbreak team releases their hack for iOS 8.3, Apple will simply render it useless by releasing iOS 8.4. Why focus on 8.3 when 8.4 is already on the horizon?

There is also the problem of actually breaking through the built-in security system of the upgraded iOS. Ever since Apple introduced iOS 8.3, it has been impossible to downgrade back to 8.2 or 8.1.3. Due to the number of hacks and jailbreaks in the market, Apple specifically made it impossible to break iOS 8.3 or to step down to a more hackable iOS version by installing high-grade security systems.

iOS 8.4 is still in its beta stage but it won't be long before it becomes available to the public. However, what many deem impossible to jailbreak has already been hacked by one jailbreak developer known as Stefan Esser, popularly known as i0n1c. Esser recently released a YouTube video showing he was abe to jailbreak the new iOS 8.4.

According to a report from GottaBeMobile, Esser will not be releasing the jailbreak to the public due to a dispute with TaiG, which he claims had stolen his work in the past. Instead, he only posted the video as a proof of concept to prove that 8.4, as well as 8.3 for that matter, can be jailbroken.

The proof of concept may not be available for the public but it does give other jailbreak developers like Pangu and TaiG the incentive to either purchase Esser's work or develop their own now that they know it is possible. Despite all this, TaiG and Pangu may delay their jailbreak releases until iOS 8.4 is publicly available.

Jailbreak enthusiasts can expect the jailbreak hacks to become available once Apple officially releases the iOS 8.4 patch update.
