Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Compact specs and features to be unveiled Mar. 1

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 successor coming soon? Huawei

Rumor has it that Huawei will introduce the smaller version of last year's Ascend Mate 7 dubbed as Ascend mate 7 Compact. The smartphone is a variant of the 3 month old 6 incher.

According to HDBlog, the Chinese manufacturer will unveil the Ascend Mate 7 with a smaller screen display of 5.5 inches panel. However, aside from a slightly smaller screen display, the smartphone will be at par with regular smartphones in the market. The word "Compact" is nothing related to Sony's term, which entails lower grade specs and features.

The report added that the Ascend Mate 7 Compact will pack a Full HD screen resolution and will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 925 octa-core processor. While the RAM and internal storage are still unknown, reports are saying that the smartphone will feature a 13 MP back camera and will be encased in an aluminum body. A fingerprint sensor is also reportedly in the cut.

Information about the device is still scarce, but more details will come forward soon as the press event of the company is scheduled for Mar. 1. The Chinese company sent out the invitations for the press event that say that Huawei will feature a number of "surprises that will empower you to set your dreams free".

Speculations arise that Huawei will launch the successors of its two most popular lines. The handsets were allegedly spotted in the wild a while back.

Huawei had a good year last year and it managed to increase its market share and profits despite the intense competition in the smartphone market. This is brought about by the great smartphones released by the company.

There are also speculations that Huawei will announce the successor in the phablet line, Ascend Mate 8, which have been spotted in various leaks in the past weeks. Based on the leaked photos, the smartphone will pack an aluminum body and edge-to-edge screen display. However, there is no official announcement from Huawei.
