HTC hints on the imminent HTC One M9 release as a number of HTC One M8 discounts have already emerged online. The alleged launch date of the former is still far off, but the Taiwanese manufacturer is prepping up for the release of the handset.
HTC One M8 is available in Amazon without an upfront price. However, interested buyers must sign a two-year commitment under AT&T. Concurrently, U.S. retailer Best Buy also offers the handset for $29.99 with a two-year contract under Verizon Wireless. This is a great deal since the original price of the 32 GB model of the HTC One M8 is $199 under a contract.
HTC One M8 is considered as one of the top smartphones of 2014 because of its specs and features paired with reasonable pricing. It has a 5-inch 1080p full HD display and is equipped with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM. The handset also comes with the signature features of HTC smartphones such as front speakers, ultrapixel back camera and HTC Sense UI on top of the OS.
A price cut is usually regarded as an indication that a successor of the handset is coming. Offering discounts is a marketing strategy to attract consumers to buy the device to exhaust as much of the remaining stocks as possible before the next generation of the smartphone arrives. Moreover, this is the company's way to maximize the profits from the One M8.
Meanwhile, HTC One M9, rumored to be codenamed "Hima," is speculated to have the following features: a 5-inch Full HD screen display; Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0 GHz quad-core A57+ 1.5GHz quad-core A53 clusters; 20.7-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX220 sensor or 13-megapixel back camera with 4 Ultrapixel front shooter; 32 GB internal storage; 2840 mAh battery; Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with HTC Sense 7 UI; metal casing and front body speakers.
The upcoming HTC One M9 is speculated to be released in March at the Mobile World Congress next year. However, HTC has confirmed none of the rumors yet.
