Rumors about the alleged successor of the HTC One M8, the HTC One M9, are starting to make rounds online.

It has been over half a year since the Taiwanese manufacturer released the HTC One M8. The current flagship smartphone was launched on March 25 this year as HTC has a habit of releasing its handsets a few weeks after the Mobile World Congress. Next year, the MWC 2015 event will be held from March 2 to 5, thus it is speculated that the forthcoming HTC One M9 will appear in late March.

As of now, very little is known about the HTC One M9. But from what is rumored about the specs and features of the device, the handset will most likely pack the most wanted features that were not included in the HTC One M8. The current flagship smartphone of the company was a letdown since it fell below the expectations of the consumers.

According to rumors, the upcoming handset will boast a 5.2-inch screen display that will contain a higher pixel count. It is speculated that the smartphone will invest in QHD screen display since FullHD screen resolution is a thing of the past. Moreover, this will allow the handset to be at par with its rivals.

The smartphone is also reported to run on a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. However, there is also a possibility that the HTC One M9 will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 810, which will be released early next year and is reported to be bound to Android smartphones.

Other rumored features of the device are better camera with higher megapixels, water-resistant body, and longer battery life.  HTC's smartphones do sell like hotcakes, and the handsets tend to rank high in tests and are tagged as among the best smartphones in the market.

However, HTC still has to confirm the rumors pertaining to the HTC One M9.
