HTC tipster @upleaks is back with new information about the HTC One M9 "Hima" release and features. The Twitter user revealed that HTC's flagship smartphone will debut alongside mid-range smartphones.
@upleaks gained credibility and is a prime tipster for HTC-related rumors. The user tipped that the HTC One M9 will be released alongside Hima "Ace" and its Chinese variant Hima "Ultra." The "Ace" variant is rumored to sport a plastic body making it a cheaper version of the flagship smartphone. While HTC One M9 will pack a Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm, the other handsets will be powered by MediaTek processors, just like its previous smartphones – Desire 310, Desire 516 and Desire 820.
It is speculated that the three new smartphones will be launched at the press event of HTC pegged in March 2015.
The meaning and origin of the name "Hima" is still unknown, and it remains unclear whether the new smartphone will be named HTC One Hima or simply HTC Hima. Nonetheless, it is said that the company will drop the M line in favor of a new series of smartphones.
The HTC One M9 is predicted to pack the following specs: 5-inch Full HD screen display; Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0 GHz quad-core A57+ 1.5GHz quad-core A53 clusters; Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with HTC Sense 7.0 user interface; 32 GB internal storage; 20.7-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX220 sensor or 13-megapixel back camera; 4 Ultrapixel front-facing shooter; and 2840 mAh battery.
Just like the other HTC smartphones, the HTC One M9 "Hima" is expected to boast metal casing and front body speakers. The handset will be available in Grey, Silver, and Gold color variants.
HTC is undoubtedly preparing for the release of its next offering as deals and discounts for the current HTC One M8 has already emerged, considerably bringing down the price of the handset. HTC is trying to maximize the profits from the device, while exhausting the remaining stocks of One M8.
However, the Taiwanese OEM manufacturer has announced nothing official about the One M9 as of the moment.
