After all that waiting, Netflix has finally come through for the fans of "House of Cards." The Netflix hit political-drama TV show's season 3 release date has now been announced. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright will return on Feb. 27, 2015, reports Daily Mail. They will reprise their roles as President Frank Underwood and First Lady Claire Underwood.

Indeed, it was a long wait. "House of Cards" was picked up for another season even before season 2 was released in Netflix in 2014. Since then, there had been no confirmation of the release date. Thankfully, fans of the show can now have peace of mind and know when they'll be seeing Frank Underwood take on Washington D.C. once again.

"House of Cards" revolves around the political career of Frank Underwood. He has been scheming his way to gain power and more power in the U.S. government after being sidelined by people he knew as friends. Claire, his wife, supports all his ambitions and has become his co-conspirator. The combination of the two is deadly. Needless to say, the acting prowess of Spacey and Wright together is just flawless.

Season 2 ended with Frank Underwood achieving his goal of becoming the U.S. President. So, where does he go from there? According to rumors, Frank will now address ISIS issues for the most part. But of course, the conniving and the scheming will definitely not end with him rising to be the most powerful man in the world.

"House of Cards" has been a massive success, with nine Emmy nominations for season 1. It has won an Emmy for casting, directing and cinematography. For season 2, it received 13 Emmy nominations. It is a series made by Beau Willimon.

Robin Wright won the Golden Globes for Best Actress. It's latest nomination is Best Drama from the Producers Guild. It will be up against "Breaking Bad," "Game of Thrones," "Downton Abbey" and "True Detective."

The third season of "House of Cards" is coming on Feb. 27, 2015. Right now, enjoy the season 3 trailer here.
