'House of Cards' season 4 premiere date in February 2016?

 Netflix

"House of Cards" season 4 is expected to launch on Netflix early next year, although there are fan speculations that it might miss this release date in order to coincide with the 2016 Presidential Elections. A report from iDigital Times now points out, however, that the series may still be able to hit its expected release date.

The report points out that season 4's production has an advantage compared to that of season 3, which was pushed back due to problems regarding tax credits. With no such issue for Netflix and the "House of Cards" studio to deal with this time around, it appears that the season will move along according to its intended schedule.

Season 1 launched on Feb. 1 2013 while season 2 launched on Feb. 14 2014. As aforementioned, season 3 saw a slight delay but was still able to launch within the month as it released on Netflix by Feb. 27 of this year. If the production is able to avoid any instances to delay the series further it may be able to release within the same window.

All of the release dates of previous seasons fell on a Friday, which is a common release date for shows on Netflix. If "House of Cards" season 4 would follow the trend of its previous seasons, then there is a very high possibility that season 4 would launch on either Feb. 12 or Feb. 19, 2016.

iDigital Times also explains that it is unlikely a trailer will release this early. Season 3's first trailer launched two weeks into January, and this was reportedly to be likely due to the delayed production. Season 4, with no such production issues, may be able to have enough material for a trailer to drop online some time after Thanksgiving.

"House of Cards" season 4 will continue to star Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as US President Frank Underwood and his wife Claire as they struggle with their political and personal lives.
