Here are some neat budget-friendly ways to spread God's love

Jesus has commanded all of us who believe in Him to go preach the gospel into all of creation, making disciples of all who believe and teaching to them all that He has taught us. In doing this, we will do well to look for ways to show His love to them – even if we don't have that much money.

Spreading God's love

Jesus came to earth and became a man in order for Him to effectively show us the love of the Father, a love that many of us would never have understood, felt, seen and heard in a very relevant way without Christ. Because of what He has done, God's love is made plain to us: redemptive and saving, personal and intimate, practical and relatable.

Friends, since Christ has commissioned all of us who believe in Him to be His mouthpiece, hands and feet in our generation, its best that we spread His love in ways that He did. Christ didn't just preach God's Kingdom into men: He loved them and met their needs, either physical (feeding of the thousands), emotional (forgiveness and peace), mental (He taught the truth), and most of all spiritual (He gave us life through His death and resurrection).

Are you looking for ways to spread Christ's love while on a budget? Here are some neat budget-friendly ways to do it, as seen in the Internet.

1. Raise public support to help the homeless

Many of us aren't rich, and so we can't afford to give homeless people the shelter that they need. We can, however, find ways to help give them a good night's sleep. Consider what "the bag ladies" do.

According to a report in the Huffington Post, this group of grandmothers cut used plastic bags to turn them into what they call "plarn" or plastic yarn. They then crochet the plarn and turn it into 3-by-6 feet plastic mats, and then give these mats away to flood victims. They did this during the recent floods that hit Louisiana. So far they've given more than 80 mats already.

People have donated plastic bags to these grandmas since their project went online. Think about it: These elderly women work on donated materials so that they could give some love. Maybe we could do something like that, too.

2. Use coupons to propel a feeding project

Many of us think hosting a feeding project is expensive, but a single mom has found a way to minimise expenses – by using coupons.

Lauren Puryear, a 29-year-old single mom, rounds up coupons and gets help from her friends to find more deals, reports Today. She cooks in her own stove at home, preparing mouthwatering dishes (like spaghetti and meatballs, baked chicken with rice, and cold-cut sandwiches) to give to unsheltered people. Her project has already delivered more than 5,000 meals in various places in the U.S. And she did it with minimal expense.

If Puryear did that, we can do that, too.

You can do good things, too

My friend, we can do good things that will both bless the needy and open them up for the gospel, all the while bringing glory to God. Don't doubt that you can't do it. We're all designed to do good works, and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
