'Hellblade' game updates: 4th Development Diary up, Ninja Theory shares preview of the rich 'Hellblade' world

Although "Hellblade" has been introduced (quite early, as Ninja Theory Communications Manager Dominic Matthews admitted) in the latest Gamescom PlayStation Conference, a release date did not follow. However, developers continually tease fans with Developer Diaries, giving them updates on the production of the new PS4-exclusive title. On the official Hellblade website, Ninja Theory posted its fourth Development Diary entitled "Creating the World," which "focuses on the creative and technical approach to creating Hellblade's world."

The six-minute video shows in detail the game's Viking background being built ahead of a finalized narrative. Play Station Universe remarked that "Hellblade" has apparently made use of the Unreal Engine for its spot-on visuals. With the stills from the diary, it is easy to conclude that the game is doing outstanding progress. It is easy to believe that it won't take long before the game gets fully geared up for a rollout.

Hellblade is looking good! Hellblade

In a post in the PlayStation blog, Matthews wrote that all throughout the making of the game, "concept art, design documents, tutorials and work-in-progress of the game being put together" will be shared by Ninja Theory, so fans can be onboard during the development process.

"We want to share our development journey with you, the fans; to develop Hellblade right in front of your eyes so you can see just how we go about making games," Matthews blogged.

In the same blog entry, he announced that the new title is unique being an "Independent AAA" which will make it better than other games out there.

"Over the course of the last 14 years we've developed three key strengths that define our games: ninja-class combat, strong character stories, and a unique art vision. In our new digital game, Hellblade, we want to take these three key strengths to the next level," Mathews wrote.

"Hellblade will be an experience focused on delivering a deep character in a twisted world, with brutal uncompromising combat," he added.

In Ninja Theory's recent Q&A on Twitter, it was revealed that the game will feature Senua's story and battles with  a "good amount of enemies and boss" with a "serious" tone, as Gamepur described. However, the game story script is still unfinished.

Before October kicked in, the small team of 13 developers took on Prototyping — with multiple phases discussed in detail in the "Hellblade" website.

"Hellbade" is targeted to be released for PlayStation 4 on 2015.
