'Halo 5: Hog Wild' DLC release date news: Update launches May 31

Halo 5 - Hog Wild update 343 Industries

The upcoming free DLC update for "Halo 5," titled "Hog Wild," will be released this Tuesday, May 31. Announced on the official "Halo" blog site from developer 343 Industries, this will be the second free update that is released in May following the launch of the "Memories of Reach" update.

As stated in the blog post, the new update does not come with brand new maps, unlike many of the past updates and DLC expansions in the "Halo" franchise. Despite this, it will come with several new REQs. These new additions include several new Warthogs such as the Rally Scout Warthog and the Sword Needler Warthog.

IGN points out that the most notable addition to the list of REQs is the Vespin Rocket Warthog. This REQ adds high-acceleration rockets to the Warthog and they come with a much faster reload rate than normal.

The full list of REQs also include new armor sets, several weapon REQs and a hybrid weapon scope.

Gamespot reports that the "Hog Wild" update was originally going to include much more content but these had to be pushed back and instead will be included in the upcoming "Warzone Firefight" expansion which is scheduled to launch in June. According to the report, this will also be the very last free update for "Halo 5."

When "Warzone Firefight" releases it will include several major additions to the game and will also tweak the Warzone game might. According to the report, 343 Industries intends on making the mode's bosses more dynamic, making the fights more engaging than how they are in right now.

Because of the added difficulty and dynamic combat that will make Warzone feel like a brand new fight each time it is played, the developers are promising bigger rewards for players capable of taking these bosses down.

In related news, it is pointed out that Microsoft's new "Project Helix" will guarantee that future "Halo" games are released for the PC as well as the Xbox One. Forge, from "Halo 5," is also set to release to release for the PC, although matchmaking details and more are not yet revealed.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
