'GTA 5' rumors: single player DLC could come in the future

"Grand Theft Auto 5" may end up getting some new single player downloadable content (DLC) sometime in the future.

At least, that would seem to be a plausible prediction after one intrepid player ventured deep into the game's files.

The "Grand Theft Auto 5" player, who goes by the username "LondonTown2004," made the discovery reportedly pointing to the existence of single player DLC after searching through enough of the game's files.

"LondonTown2004" has since posted evidence of the supposed existence of single player DLC on the gaming forum Se7enSins.

Essentially, what "LondonTown2004" found buried deep within the files of "Grand Theft Auto 5" is a framework of a DLC management system that would be well suited mainly for the game's single player offerings, NDTV reported.

"LondonTown2004" even managed to find an error screen that indicated that he/she has yet to have any record of purchasing the DLC that he/she is trying to access.

This would mean that if "LondonTown2004" is indeed on the right track, then the single player DLC which could eventually be released for "Grand Theft Auto 5" could also require an additional payment.

Still, as interesting as "LondonTown2004's" findings may be, they amount to very little unless Rockstar actually comments on them, and unsurprisingly, the developer has declined to do that for now, according to Ubergizmo.

As much as "Grand Theft Auto 5" players may want to dream on the possibility that the game could soon be introducing new single player content in the not too distant future, it's also entirely possible that the recent findings were merely left over from the development process.

There very well might have been single player DLC planned for "Grand Theft Auto 5," and it's also entirely possible that those plans were scrapped as well.

The only official word from Rockstar is that they are opting to focus more on "GTA Online" as opposed to developing single player content for "Grand Theft Auto 5," and that's the reality until the developer says something otherwise.
