'Grimm' season 5 spoilers: 'Gilmore Girls' alum to guest-star

"Gilmore Girls" star Keiko Agena is set to visit Portland really soon. The 42-year-old American actress will be guest-starring in an episode of "Grimm" season 5 with a big family problem that the supernatural may have caused.

According to TV Line, Agena is set to play the role of a second-generation Japanese-American woman named Madoka Akagi whose teenage son Kuma perished in a heartbreaking disaster, which her husband believes is far from a mere accident.

"The Man in the High Castle" star Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa will also be appearing in the same "Grimm" season 5 episode as Takeshi Himura, a family friend of the Akagis. Himura happens to be a lawyer, allowing him to help Madoka get through the case.

The stars will be appearing in "Grimm" season 5 episode 17, which is titled "Inugami." The title refers to classic beings in the Japanese mythology called "dog gods," which should end up being involved in Agena's character's crisis.

Before fans can look ahead into this exciting episode, they will first have to see Nick and Hank tackle a monster from the deep. The upcoming episode of the hit NBC series called "A Reptile Dysfunction" pits the detectives against a killer creature in the local lake.

During this "Grimm" season 5 episode, Rosalee will also be dealing with a dark part of her past, Renard will continue to show his support for a mayoral candidate and Nick will be given an idea on just how great the wesen uprising is coming to be.

It is also expected that the next hour of the series will look into Meisner's suspected romantic feelings for Adalind, who, unfortunately for him, is becoming closer and closer to Nick. The two appears to be developing a new level of intimacy fans never thought they will share.

"Grimm" season 5 episode 8 "A Reptile Dysfunction" airs Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
