Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) nightmare from the previous episode's awkward dinner party seems to be far from over, based on the preview for the upcoming episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12.
In the episode titled "The Me Nobody Knows," Meredith will find out that the new transfer resident Penny Blake (Samantha Sloyan) will be under her service. This will be hard for both the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital's chief of general surgery and Callie Torres' (Sara Ramirez) new girlfriend, the same doctor who was treating her husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) when he died.
Most scenes in the preview show the obviously irate Meredith who is not willing to work with the new transfer resident. In one of the scenes, Penny tells her that she does not want to make their day awkward. Meredith snapped, "So don't make it awkward."
Meredith is also seen shouting at the new transfer resident, saying "Is there any part of this job that you can handle?" It could have a big impact on Penny, who tells her girlfriend that Meredith is making her life in Grey Sloan extremely difficult.
But Mer is not the only person whom Penny should look out for, because Derek's sister Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) is also seen giving her a spiteful glance.
Can Meredith ever forgive Penny for not doing everything to save her husband's life?
The official synopsis for the episode reads:
"Grey Sloan Memorial not only welcomes a new transfer resident, but also a patient who's the topic of conversation after accidently sending his sex tape to his entire congregation. Meanwhile, Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) wrestles with how to progress his relationship with Maggie (Kelly McCreary) when an old friend visits the hospital, and April (Sarah Drew) brings in a case of a young boy from the Middle-East."
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 episode 6 airs after a one-week hiatus on Thursday, Nov. 5, on ABC.
