The Dreamcast classic RPG "Grandia II" is now available via Steam and GOG. The "Grandia II Anniversary Edition" costs $20 on both community stores and the new digital release offers several new features and it fixes some of the bugs that plagued the original version of the game.

As reported by RPGFan, there are new options to adjust the video and audio levels in the new version. Shadows and 60 fps battles can be turned on and off, there is now support for both 4k and Ultra Wide Screen resolutions. Gamers also have the options to adjust the volume of the game's footsteps, voices, music and ambient sound effects.

Because the game is most likely to be played with a modern control pad such as a wired Xbox 360 controller for Windows, it now offers options for analog movement and analog camera control. For those intending to play the game with a keyboard and mouse, it supports this control scheme as well.

The Anniversary Edition also fixes several glitches and bugs such as those that cause the game to crash or fail to load even after a fresh install.

According to a report from Digital Trends, the Anniversary Edition also allows gamers to still use their original save files from the Dreamcast version or PC port of the game released in 2002. This is because the Anniversary Edition still utilizes the VMS file format that the old versions used.

This Anniversary Edition also features its own set of Achievements and a trading card game that is new to the HD remaster.

"Grandia II" was developed by Game Arts and originally launched for the Dreamcast in 2000. PC and PlayStation 2 versions were released in 2002 while a port to the PlayStation Network was released in 2014. Although it is a sequel to the original "Grandia" title, "Grandia II" is set in a different world with an unrelated story and cast of characters.
